Paris wall art photography print shows the Hotel Chopin, a Haussmann built space located in the famous Parisian Passages. Originally built to cover pedestrians from the rain, the passages were built mostly during the 19th century and also allow light with their beautiful glass roofs. With only about 30 passages left (there used to be around 150), this hotel and Jouffroy passage are one of the oldest and a historical monument. Hotel Chopin was renamed after the famous composer because he regularly used the passage to get from his home to Pleyel's piano demonstration room. The charming Parisian Passages were a place for the bourgeoisie to mingle in prime and luxury locations throughout Paris. As a pedestrian only space, you were able to avoid getting dirty and could loiter and enjoy shop windows, restaurants and gas lamps to light your way at night.
