 Cheap rubbery feel. Nov 17, 2010

I read the other reviews before deciding to purchase this bag. I knew it wasn't leather because of the 'leather trim' description. However, I wasn't expecting the rubbery texture of the fake leather. It's not 'cognac' color either, it's more like a burnt sienna crayon color. Very reddish, so I'm guessing they used a ton of white lighting in the photo to make it look like a nicer color(it was about 4-5 shades darker in real life). The inside lining was a tan background with a dark brown cheetah print. The cell phone pouch would hold my old Nokia flip phone, but not a larger smart phone, which would be more useful in an "Office Tote". My phone wouldn't even fit in the adjoining wallet pouch. I wanted to like this purse but it looks cheap(rubbery materials,cheap looking lining)although it had a few good points(trim, hardware, nice details). I am returning this product.

I purchased this tote to replace my current work handbag and I am very pleased to say that the specifications are perfect for my needs. It's a spacious soft leather tote with an exterior pocket for small items like keys or even a card holder. The interior is roomie, split right and left section with a middle zipper section.
I am very happy with my new office tote and would recommend it to anyone in need of a medium work tote at a great price.

I fell in love with this bag the moment i saw it. I just received it today and couldnt wait to load it up with all of my stuff. It is big enough to carry everything that i need and trust me, that is saying alot. It isnt too big, just the right size. The price is excellent. This bag is made very well and is a steal for under $50.00. I cant wait to show it to everyone i know and some people i dont....buy this bag and you wont be sorry.

I waited a bit until I had a chance to use the handbag for a while. They are very useable and function well for a day-to-day use, but it is a stretch (actually as well as figuratively,) to include my laptop. I purchased two of them, the camel and the beige. These are terrific handbags for the money, and the colors are exactly as depicted in the photos. They do not, however, measure 16" at the bottom, but rather 14 1/2". I would have really liked to have them at the stated size of 16", but both measured less. I also had an issue with the lock, (opening it to stretch the bag so as to obtain more entry room,) only to never be able to re lock it. My husband found a similar lock and replaced it for me, but I think you should consider the cheap lock as potentially non-operable when attempting to actually open/close it. The product description also states that there are "...3 Large Inner Compartments one of them zippered with leather trimmings. Letaher trimmed inner side wall zippered pocket and a cellphone/wallet holder..." Well, the handbag's inside is a big hole (as is now fashionable to do,) and has one zippered wall pocket, and two relatively small utility wall pockets on the opposite side, one of which is cell phone designated, but my cell phone does not fit in it (I have a small flip phone.) All else remains the same, I like the bags, but again, the measurements are not as described, they do not contain any compartments, and the lock was inoperable on the two I purchased, hence the 3 star rating.

I bought this bag for my mom for Christmas because she has been complaining that her current bag was too compact, the strap was too long, blah blah etc. I had full intentions to get her a D&B bag that would add to her current collection, but spending over $300 on a bag that I wasn't absolutely sure she'd love wasn't happening. I am always on Amazon and found this bag through generally browsing. I figured that $50 was an ok amount to spend and if my mom didn't like it I'd give it to someone who didn't mind it. Thankfully when it came she absolutely LOVED it.
Reason #1: I didn't realize it but the lock in the picture does open/close with the key hidden (marvellously) in the fringe hang.
Reason #2: The interior is big enough to fit not only all her stuff (wallet, glasses case, makeup, checkbook etc) but her IBM laptop as well. Granted it was a stretch to get the leather straps to go around the bag to lock it but we worked it.
Reason #3: The handles are large/wide enough for her to have the bag (complete w/ laptop and extra stuff) hang comfortably on her shoulder.
Reason #4: Plenty of pockets for the additional stuff we all have
For around $50 this is a great multi-purpose bag, and even if you are brand conscious this bag is an awesome purchase.
