Very nice Boss Orange cords, at least they were at first.... Jul 30, 2011
By Don S. I've purchased both the Dark Beige and Dark Purple versions of the Boss Orange 25 Jean. They are actually blue-jean style cords. The colors aren't as dark as the color names would indicate--I returned the purple ones, the color was brighter and too "grape" for my taste, and I like purple. Sizes run maybe slightly small, but more true than many of this brand's pants based on my experience. The pants are nicely made, as I expect from Boss Orange. Machine wash, but no tumble dry. These pants have a button fly. This item has had wild price swings, with an extra 20% off the beige ones were a steal at about $35. Amazon's service as usual was excellent.
Update 2.25.2012 These pants have developed significant problems since my original review. The corduroy material itself seems to be suffering from washing, even though I've washed these pants, per the tag's instructions, at most six times. The raised section of the corduroy now looks like uneven like the fibers are matted or something and the appearance won't come back through ironing. The other problem is even more serious, the leather tag on the back is breaking down so it leaves brown stains on the pants after washing. They come out with some spot cleaning, but when you wash again there are almost always new stains in different places. Last time I washed them, I took them out within 10 seconds of the machine stopping and there were still stains, so it's happening during the wash cycle not because the wet pants are touching the tag. I've had/have a lot of different pants with leather tags on them and I've never experienced this problem before. Not good.
