I needed a gift for my groomsmen for my wedding in about a month. I hassled with myself between this set and some much more expensive cystal decanter sets ($150-$185) on other websites where I knew I would be guaranteed good quality. I finally decided to buy these (not a lot of extra money floating around), and that I would return them if they were not of a reasonable quality. 2 of the 3 sets I ordered came in today (4 days with the free shipping option), and I inspected all pieces. I own a more expensive decanter set already that I bought overseas, so I didn't expect to be too impressed, but I was. The weight of all the pieces is similar to the Waterford Crystal. Almost like heavy glass, but it says right on the box... 24% Lead Crystal. The cuts in the glass are not super fine, but are more than acceptable, and give a very attractive look to this set. The ball stopper is extremely heavy and though not frosted, seats well in the neck of the decanter for a nice seal. I thought the decanter itself looked small in the pictures, but it's not, it is a standard size (24 oz or so...guessing). We pealed back the paper on the silver tray, and it was mirrored nicely without blemishes (not that the tray really matters that much ayway). Again, this set is not just a good set for the money, it's a good set.... and the price makes it truly a steal. I would be more than happy to display this set in my home and offer drinks from it to any class of company. I know the gift will go over well, don't hesitate to buy this unless you just want top-notch crystal and desire to spend more money. Great product.

I have been looking for this kind of crystal items for a long time, nothing I found with this quality and relatively low priced. I would have spent $200 for this, if I had have seen this in the shops.
I am lucky that I happen searched in Amazon, exactly the classic design I have been looking for. after item arrived, I am impressed with the super quality, the weight, really heavy glasses, plus simple designed silver plated tray, just perfect! This set is very tasteful, classic, elegant, very upscale! I recommend 100%. This was made in Slovakia. This is one of my few best purchases! I can imagine to keep it for home forever, I will never get tired of this set.

Great quality glasses and decanter Jul 30, 2009

The glassware is really heavy and that's great. It has a nice thickness to it. The silver plate tray it comes on is more-or less how people described it, not of the greatest quality, but if you go in knowing that you won't be disappointed as the set is a great value. Every couple of months you need to POLISH the tray with silver polish. I give it 5 stars because I got more than what I wanted with this.

Received this decanter set today. Great packaging and quick delivery. The decanter is really beautiful, as are the glasses, and the tray is nice but average to poor quality. Keeping in mind that this is not high-end, fine crystal, it does however make a lovely showing. Great set for the money. Recommend set and seller. Gave it 4 stars due to tray quality.

I hardly drink, but I do want something nice to have at the house for in case friends who do drink visit, so I got this whiskey set.
All the glass elements are very sturdy and heavy.
However, as I set the glasses down on the tray (bottoms up), I accidentally clipped the lip on one of the glasses on the butt of another, and it chipped a small bit.
I didn't hit it hard, so as heady as they are, the glasses aren't very sturdy.
The designs are very nice, and I love the stopper - extra thick and heavy, like a cue ball (and so would make a fine improvisational weapon if you were caught in a "James Bond" moment ;]).
The silver tray is also thick and heavy, but doesn't have the same look and quality with the glassware, (mine came with a few small permanently splotches) so it doesn't seem to go well together. But it's included, and I'll take it.
Overall, a fine set for those who don't want to break the bank yet still have something nice to store and drink their liquid in.
